Water Capture Technology

Water is currently collected through a variety of ways; rainwater, bore water, desalination or atmospheric water capture.

Atmospheric Water Capture

There are two competing approaches to harvest water - each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Refrigeration - energy-intensive, requires high relative humidity to be effective but is cheap to produce.

Desiccant absorption - liquid and solid states, scalability can be an issue, can use thermal energy and solar as an alternative to electrical energy.  It is operable at lower relative humidity and high humidity however, regenerating desiccant is difficult and it can be cost-prohibitive.  It can be energy-intensive.
